Richmond/Knob Hill Tactical Urbanism Project with the University of Calgary

Richmond/Knob Hill was selected as one of the few communities who are participating in a capstone project with urban studies students from the University of Calgary. The team of students are tasked with proposing an idea that will better Richmond/Knob Hill using tactical urbanism and need your input to come up with the best project in their class, with the potential of the community winning $500 to $1,000 to make their vision a reality!

What is Tactical Urbanism? Essentially it is small, scalable, low-cost, usually, citizen -ed projects/movements focused on improving neighbourhoods and communities. These initiatives are quick, often temporary, cheap projects that aim to make a small part of a city more lively or enjoyable.
